Ready for the Great Outdoors

Well, for Three Kings Day Ryan got a Fishing Pole, which has now infected me with the hope of future great outdoor adventures. In high school I remember hiking, camping, and doing other crazy fun things with my CBFFE's. I miss those days! (shout out to my girls) ...Oh where was I..., well it was those dirty outdoors days, that prompted me to do an Adventure Race in October. It was a blast. And now I can't stop thinking about Me and Ryan, Fishing Poles, Tent, and The mountians. It just sounds so wonderful. But now that we are in Indiana I just will think about Me and Ryan, Fishing Poles, Tent, and the Rolling Hills? Oh, well I am just ready to roast peacheos and play cards!

Here is a Quick Clip of the Race
R.S,. H.P. and J. H. (respectively) of team “We’re Gonna Kick Your Trash” placed 1st in the women’s category and 3rd overall in the 1st Annual Hoosier Hellbender Adventure Race. Located at Griffy Lake Nature Preserve, these women endured 6 hours and of trail running, canoeing, land navigation, and vertical rope work on October 8, 2005. Competing against 11 other teams, waking up before the cows need milking, and losing their map (which got them lost for about an hour) did not stop their hard work and determination to navigate over 6 miles of terrain, find all map stations, and finish with a smile. R.S. and H.P. are both 1st year Counseling Psychology Ph. D students. J. H. is a 1st year Community Counseling Masters student.

Way to go Juls! I never did ask you how that turned out... I am training to do the Seattle to Portland bike race - though I doubt I'll even place (not really my goal anyhow)...
