Pears

Art by Mary Doane Ryan told me a story of a friend who's parents served him frozen bananas. So, yesturday at work I put a slice of a clemmentine orange in the freezer.
I ate it. It was good.
However, it was not as good as a fresh slice. I am now going to freeze a pear and see if it is yummy. I love pears and wouldn't it be nice to give them away like the oranges on Little Women. Or you could go to a fair and instead of buying a balloon for your child they would just scream for pears! However, I did not have one pear today, I had 4 slices of pizza!

I tried to freeze bananas for a delicious snack once..but I forgot to peel them first, so I couldn't peel the black frozen peels off of the danged bananas. What I ended up with was black peeled mushy defrosted bananas.

Have you heard that joke..

Person A: Would you like a frozen banana?

Person B: No. But I'd like a regular banana later so...yeah.

When reading your blog it reminded of a random experience i had as a child. Remember when you were little and would catch grasshoppers and out of pure curiosity, would freeze them, then take them out to dethaw and see if they would come back to life? Random, I know, but I did that!
p.s. my little grasshopper came back from the frozen land and hopped away...at least that is how i remember it. Who knows I could have been so scarred for killing it that i made that up, could be a possibility!

That is a great story. I love to freeze fruit and eat it. We should all go to fairs and scream for corn. Wouldn't that be great. "Mom, I really, really want some corn--you promised." Hehehehehehhe.

Love,
Suz

Juls - weren't those persimmons (on Little Women)? - I love the part on christmas when they cradle them in hand and smell them as if they are the most decadent treasures in the world...

Jess, I am pretty sure they were oranges. Either way they both are tasty
