I almost put Mrs. Trunchbull, too! I love your picks. Looks like I'll have to read The Belgariad and Mallorean Series By David Eddings! I've never even heard of it!
Bridget...it is soo good and a light read. I must warn you though: it is a traveling fantasy and is geared for adolescents which is probably why I loved it so much.
I almost put Mrs. Trunchbull three! She deserves a her own category!!!
Only 3 huh? Well, I guess I would like to be... Biddy in Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, Becky in Vanity Fair by William Thackeray, and as a throwback to the books I liked to read in elementary school - I always loved Anne in Anne of Green Gables. Now, three characters I'd like to meet? This is much harder because there's SO many! But tops on my list would have to be Blimunda of Baltasar and Blimunda by Jose Saramago, Tayo in Ceremony by Leslie Marmon Silko, and Santiago in The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo. Three characters that frighten me: Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, the blind hoodlum leader in Blindness by Jose Saramago... and Morgaine in Mists of Avalon.
Love.
Ryan was really impressed with your list..and was surprised that you like brazillian authors... I love seeing what other people read...I miss you Jess.
