1st Hair Cut

Well, the last time I cut hair was when Ryan and I were first married and I thought it would be easy and cheap. After we took Ryan to get his hair fixed, it was neither. Needless to say he never let me touch his hair again. So naturally Ryan was very worried when I decided to cut Barec's hair.

The first attempt of cutting The B-Mans hair had me laughing so hard that I had to stop and back a way. I didn't make one snip. Barec just looked at me and cried. I guess I would too if I was my own barber! By this point Ryan had left the bathroom and my sister (on Skype) was begging me to have someone else do it.

So the next day I put in a movie and gave him some snacks and away I snipped. When I thought I was done Ryan said "It doesn't look that bad." My sister wasn't as sweet, her response was something like this: "He looks like Forest Gump, and I am saying this on Skype so you know it's bad in person. Its really really bad." This is when I hugged Barec, told him he is beautiful and that hair will grow back. He just smiled and chewed his hands. After some more feedback from my sis. I stripped Barec down, put him in the kitchen sink and closely followed her instruction to de-gumpify Barec. He just played with the water and occasionally grabbed the comb. When all was said and done it actually turned out great. 3rd times a charm, right?

I just love his wavely curls and chubby cheeks. I hope they stay as he grows. I want to savor him right now. Pause this moment. I love him, his sweetness and joy he brings to our home. We had a little photo shoot outside and played with the falling leaves. Sigh. He is growing up.
