hmmm. Good question. I am totally loyal to Edward. He and Bella are made for each other. She's the only one he can't read. There has to be some meaning behind that. I think in the end he'll somehow become human again because of some power that she has.
Jacob hasn't even imprinted on Bella and his juvenile attempts at trying to make her fall in love with him just make me angry with him. Of course if there were no Edward, though, they probably would be perfect for each other...sad.
Also, Edward is the only one out to the two who has even the slightest bit of sympathy for the other. Jacob is all brawn and hot headed. Edward, by the end of book three, is cool countenance and 'whatever's best for Bella' even if that includes letting her kiss the werewolf.
Will somebody please tell me, though, why Bella and Edward haven't hightailed it to South America to hide from the Volturi yet? I know her dad is important, but I'm sure he'd want her alive. Sheesh! I'm already scared and I haven't even started the book!
oh and another question. The Volturi probably wouldn't destroy her because her talents are just too enticing...so really why don't they just let them find her and do the dirty work for Edward? That way he wouldn't have the everlasting damnation of having bitten his true love and sending her to a soulless life of 'hell'.

I just realized that I completely contradicted myself, but it's the ultimate question in the final book...face the volturi, run and hide, or get it over with and get bitten. Excitement!

k first of all I love the cartoons!!! OK- heres the sitch:
I am completley on Edwards side! Bella and Edward have this passion for each other that makes me woozy! Seriously! They are meant for each other!
When I read the books the first time around I hated Jacob, I actually loathed him! I thought he was immature and I wanted to slap him through the pages of Eclipse! BUT after reading them a second time around I ended up liking Jacob- even though he may be immature he shows a different alternative for Bella- a human life, raise a family, the opportunity to grow old with each other- BUT its Bella's choice and she (of course) chooses Edward whom she is soul mates with. Yes she could be happy with Jacob and live the rest of her life but she is head over heels in love with Edward and they cannout truley live without each other. She is willing to sacrifice whatever she needs to in order to be with him which I find completley romantic! Edward realizes the HUGE sacrifice she would be making and remains unselfish letting Bella choose what SHE wants. Edward knows what shes giving up but I think in the end she will become a vampire and her powers are magnified in some way probably that the Volturis power cant affect her so she becomes immune and they can fight the Voluri with Bella by the Cullens side....who knows maybe Jacob ends up imprinting on a vampire...now that would be interesting!
Oh...I love all this talk. I tend to agree that Bella and Edward are the complete "chemical reaction." Marne' you are right. They seem to have this complete attraction and willingness to completely give all they have to one another. Yet, is that all their relationship is built on? I am constantly concerned that Edward is too protective and Bella is too self sacrificing. In a way I believe that Jacob lets Bella be human...breakable. He accepts her for that and offers her the type of relationship that last beyond that moment of romance. The only thing is that he is completely immature and selfish at times. I also think he can be manipulative...wait isn't Edward manipulative as well????? Ahh....This is why this is so much fun. It is like the Mind/Body problem that Descartes worked so hard to puzzle out. Okay... I am confusing myself and off topic. Let me be serious. I say Bella should go with Edward because of the fire between them and eventually (i hope) they will gain depth to the relationship. I believe Bella will be a vampire and Married. I think Jacob will imprint on Angela, and Sam will die so Jacob will lead the pack...oh it is just too good. Thank you for posting!

Here is my laundry list of what I think has to happen, I just can't wait! First they have to get married, and try what Bella wants, and then they will bite/change Bella. They will go off to “collage,” I am hoping there will only be a brief bit about her wanting blood and then the months will pass and she will start to be normal again and she and Edward will get to have fun Edwards’ way. I think they need a little bonding once they are equal. Maybe a honneymoon of sorts. Then I think Jacob will have to have his story progress and he needs to imprint on someone. (Hopefully not Bella once she is a vampire…she will be a different person, it could still happen) Then they will have to deal with the volturi and I am excited to see what her super power will be and how it will bring her and Edward closer together, and she will become equil in the family. I also think that Charlie will find a new “friend.” ONLY 4 MORE DAYS!

I do think Bella and Edward have a deeper connection other than the obvious physical one In my opinion Edward no longer feels alone in his existence even though he has a “family” that is just like him in the vampire sense, he has his other half. He has found someone that doesn’t look at him as the monster he sees in himself. They complete one another. Edward would protect Bella no matter how infuriating Edward can be- ex: beginning of New Moon? He has a tendency to overreact and is a little melodramatic in regards to never being good enough for Bella and thinking the best way to protect her is to leave her- DUMB idea! Bella would be willing to sacrifice a huge thing to be with Edward- her life- but I think the fact that Edward and his vampire family have given up feeding on humans is a huge sacrifice in and of itself! I imagine it would be extremely hard not to want to give in. Otherwise there would be NO WAY that they would even be together! She would be on his dinner plate! The fact that he made that choice to not attack humans is HUGE! Bella is his blood singer so every time they are together there is that animal urge yet Edward is strong enough to withstand that! Ok, I could ramble pamble on…
Anyway- the 4th book Bella and Edward will get married (hopefully her attitude about marriage changes!) she turns to a vampire, they leave while she “adjusts”, there will be some sort of issue with the treaty- if Bella is bitten but they are not in Forks does that still break the treaty? Or will the werewolves allow Bella to become a vampire there instead of having the Volturi killing her?
AAH! So many questions! Only three days till they are all answered!!!!
Juls I am actually regretting the fact that I pre-ordered my book. I want it at midnight!!! I don't have anyone to go with to the party in our area, and would feel silly being there by myself. Pout. I guess I will just have to wait until I get it on Saturday. Sudden fear just struck my heart! I have trusted my book to the hands of the US Postal service!!! HELP!!! What if I don’t get it until 3-5 working days after it comes out!?!?! Will you promise to call me and start reading it to me if it gets lost in the mail????
Oh, I am sorry E. I am sure that there are some twilighters in your ward...but I know it would be hard to be like "Hey I don't know you but would you like to go to this totally tweeny party for a vampire book release with me this friday night?" Yeah that wouldn't work. My suggestion is to make J. go with you.
