I had just got home at 7pm from work and wanted to be outside and enjoy the 70+ weather. I was so thrilled to go play tennis with Ryan. So while we walked a mile or so to the park we held hands and chatted about our day. When we got to the park Ryan set his keys down and we began to hit the ball back and forth. Now I am not very good at playing this game but it is so fun to just hit the ball and see where it goes. Poor Ryan was running all over the place as I would hit the ball in the other courts and such. I just kept whacking away at the balls and he patiently hit back.
Eventually I got a little better and we were able to volley a little. So it was no surprise that he was tired on our walk back home. I on the other had was as hyper as a yappee dog and bouncing all over the place. I decided that I wanted to bounce the ball on my racket all the way back home, so when he grab the ball mid air I was furious that he would take away my "toy". He then said "Can't we just hold hands" my reply "No, I want to bounce the ball all the way home!"
I took out the second ball I had in my pocket and began to bounce. This time he didn't say word he just reached out and grabbed the second ball. "ARG! Why can't I just be silly for a little bit". Now I was angry. I took out the third ball and tried to whack it at his head - 3 attempts later he was still walking ahead of me, shaking his little bottom, and the ball never got close to him. AHH I suck at tennis. So the last time I ran really close to him, cocked my arm back, and slammed the racket against the ball. He ducked and it went whizzing into the poison ivy. There was no way I was going in after that. So, with a grimace, I held his hand and we finished our walk bickering all the way. I do remember him saying something about me acting like a six year old. I was so indignant, but the more I think about it the more I know he is right. Don't get him wrong - he was teasing, but I do like exploring and touching the world around me and I know that can get really annoying. Yes, I am pretty silly:
