Since school has begun I haven't had time to blog. I am either running around at my internship dealing with all ages and issues or working at my graduate position filing and typing minutes. Or I am going to class and learning about child development within the family context or attending another class about evaluations models and such. When I am not in class, at work, or at internship I am up at 5:30 am going to the gym to run, cycle, or swim. I have decided that activity and exercise are a MUST for my sanity.
So this morning as I slept in until 6:30 am I thought "Man I should get up and go swim my day will just be so much better." So I hopped out of bed, quickly packed my bags, and ran out the door in my lime green white pokadot flip flops.
As I was driving to the Gym I wondered when the pool would close, "Surely it is open until 8:00 AM?" Still, I pushed the gas and hurried because it was already 7:20 AM. Thus, with "hurry" on my mind I found a parking spot, jumped out of my car and started to run. Then "POP!" The thong in my flip flop broke! I still had a good 200 feet to go and what was worse was it had rained all night so the side walks were covered in dirt, slime, and leaves.
ARG!!!! So now I am walking bare foot, mind you, to the pool thinking about how my mom told me you get worms walking outside barefoot after in rains and grimacing with each squish of spooge between my toes.
Finally I get to the locker room, I throw my bag in a locker, look at the attendant and ask "So when does the pool close" her response "7:30 am" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. It was 7:30 am!!! I wanted to fall to my knees that very moment and scream "WHY ME!!! Now I am going to get worms, oh the pain" But I didn't I turned around, got my bag, threw out my flip flops, and headed to the showers to wash the anger (and possible worms) off my body.

Don't you hate days like that? I feel your pain. I too recently lost a beloved pair of flip flops, though the circumstances were not similar at all...
Love.
