Okay, so I am feeling much better. Nothing like God, a Husband, relaxing weekend, and friends to pick you up!
I have officially finished my first week of school counseling (as an intern) and I love it. There is just something about working with teens that stresses me out, gets me motivated, and is challenging. By Friday of last week I was definitely ready for some needed sleep. In fact I went to bed around 8pm that night.
On Saturday, I went for a run (first long run in 2 weeks -- yikes). I couldn't believe it but the eight miles I did killed me. So this week I need to pick it up and run harder. After the run I went to the farmers market and bought delicious butternut squash and cucumbers. Then it was off to our local organic/health co-op grocery where I picked up some incredible rosemary olive bread, more veggies, and tried some Almond Butter (if you haven't tried this stop what you are doing right now and get some...GO). I bought Ryan some of his favorite juice then headed home. Ryan and I decided to go grave hunting and then for some school clothes shopping at the outlet malls.
In regards to grave yard hunting Ryan is a volunteer for a website that posts pictures of peoples ancestors tombstones. What they do is email Ryan when someone has requested a photo of a tomb in our area. He then goes and finds it and takes a picture for them. So Saturday we headed out to no-wheresville Indiana (actually Elkinsville) and searched for said tombstones. It was a gorgeous drive along back country roads. We blasted the music and rolled down the windows and sang our way there. Once we got there it was a beautiful site. I am amazed at where you will find grave yards and intrigue by the stories of those who lay there. We also past this magical little bed and breakfast and will post pictures (Bridget you would have loved it!!!). We finished the night off with a Movie - Stardust a witty and fun movie.
Sunday was church as usual, then we had some new friends over for dinner. I made tortellini with fresh tomatoes, basil, and motzerlla. Rosemary bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and garlic spread (incredible), with a garden salad and homemade Italian dressing, and as a side we had garlic, herded butternut squash with fresh garden parsley. Dinner was amazing...I hate to brag can you tell?
I will post some pictures of our weekend tonight.
