This is the best weekend I have had in a long time! It began on Friday when I came home after class. I took a nice shower with no stress in my head about papers or work. Ryan and I then road our bikes to the nearest subway and talked about the wonderful weather and possibly getting some better bikes at the Bike Auction Saturday morning. We then road home, watched a movie, and read a little from our book. Wonderful!
The following day we got up at 6:30 am to be ready to catch the 7:15 am bus. Of course I had to fix my hair and grab some breakfast which made us miss our bus by 2 minutes! What is worse is that we only live like 30 feet from the stop! No problem though, we just took the car into to the school to check out the bikes. The morning was so beautiful and I was excited to see what types of bikes they would have. Unfortunately, there weren't many. We ran into a couple of friends and chatted while we waited for the auction to begin. I bid on a bike at 75 dollars (which was my limit) unfortunately that is what the bidding began at: it was sold for 170 arg. It was so great to listen to auctioneer I kept thinking he was saying “pick a bail of cotton” between the bids…Ryan thought I was weird, what’s new. After that we headed to the farmers market and ran into more friends listened to some great music, bought some tomato plants, and two honey straws (they are exactly that: straws filled with yummy honey. Then we went grocery shopping and bought everything for home made salsa. We also bought some soil for the tomatoes and bark for the front of the house. While Ryan made his incredible salsa I laid out all the bark. We then helped some friends move. Then we went to see Spider Man III (definitely entertaining) came home ate some fried chicken and Ryan planted the tomato plants while I talked with him. I then brushed my long hair into a pony tale and asked Ryan to cut it off.
He laughed! But when he saw I was serious he took the scissors and CUT! 8 inches gone! I was laughing with nervousness but I wanted my haircut so badly that I would have let a 2 year old cut it. After I took it out of the pony tail I looked like I had a mullet!!! It was so funny. Ryan then evened my hair up with some instruction and I trimmed the front. I really think that he did a great job…and I love this short fun new look. It is so quick to fix and my hair feels healthy! At the end of the day we enjoyed some blackberry pie with vanilla ice-cream (my favorite). Saturday was definitely a crazy great day.
On Sunday we went to church. The primary sang and the talks were incredible. One of the speakers compared labor, birth, and motherhood to the Atonement, Jesus’ sacrifice and miracles…truly inspiring. I spent the rest of church with my sunbeams making flowers, coloring, and singing (I love primary). After church we watched Testaments , folded laundry, and read a little. Around 4 pm we had two couples come over for dinner. Ryan made kebabs, someone brought pasta, and another brought a great salad! We had a wonderful time laughing and talking and then we enjoyed cake and more blackberry pie! When everyone left I called my mom and we chatted while I did the dishes. Ryan then called his mother. After which we talked about how incredible our week was and went to bed. Splendid!

Juls your hair looks AMAZING! It's so cute! I don't think I've ever seen it that short. Brave girl.
I'm so glad you had a good weekend. I was thinking about you. I don't think people think about how mothers day can sometimes be hard.
I CAN'T WAIT to see you again! I wish you were coming sooner than Christmas!
I absolutely love it!!!!
Yeah...I haven't had my hair cut this short since fourth grade! I am glad you both love it. Mothers day was wonderful and it was good to talk with my mother. I spent the evening playing with one of the couples baby who is absolutely adorable...I still get a ping feeling everynow and then but I have complete trust in the Lord. Happy mothers day to you both :)
I love your hair! It looks fantastic :). Jed and Wyatt got me a bike rack for the car and some accessories (tool kit, etc). We didn't get to go riding yesterday, but I rode to the library today. I love biking! I'm happy to hear you had a good weekend. :)
