Water Heater

When you return from a trip there are certain things that you cannot wait to do: One - Sleep in your own bed and Two - Take a shower in your own bathroom.

So, last Friday as Ryan and I entered our home around 9PM we could not wait to sleep in our own bed! We headed up stairs, put everything down, I washed my face and we went to bed. OHHHH it was heaven. Now I don't want you to think "What! they didn't shower...SICK!" Truth is we showered at the condo that morning.

Well Saturday morning came and we woke up around 8am (which is sleeping in for me) then we were off to the farmers market. Tomatos, Corn, and Squash later we headed home. Once again I headed up the stairs to my bedroom, this time to take a shower...only.....THERE WAS NO HOT WATER! I sat there with my hand in the water and the temperature set on "should be really hot by now" and nothing. So I thought, "hum, maybe it needs to warm up?" I went to my bed, wrapped in a towel and started reading Xanth (a fantasy novel, yes I am part geek). After a half hour, which is ample time for water to be warm, I headed over to the tub. I turned it on hoping hot water would come rushing out...but NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Just plain cold water.

This is where I began to shout "Ryan, get off the computer, I need hot water!"..."Ryan!!!!", "Ryan come here and fix it!!!" He came in did the same thing I did and told me to wait longer....DUH I just did that! Anyway I did, he came back still no warm water-UG!

Well, to make it short, I showered at the neighbors, Ryan called a friend, and TUESDAY Ryan drained the water hearter, replaced the heating elements, and poof -- hot water! All for 17 dollars and one shower at the neighbors.

I would love to feel sorry for you, but we went for almost 9 days with not hot water. . .I warmed water on the stove to bathe the babe, but other than that, we were a pretty stinky crew!

LOVE YOUR BLOG! Miss you so much!
