Ryan is coming home this Saturday and my days of solicitude will be over! So, this last weekend I decided to get our home ready for his return. Some of you may already know this, but just in case, I am a Clorox Clean Kind of woman. I get a sick enjoyment when I look into a bathroom that is sparkling and free of yuckiness. Something about knowing your toliet is so clean that you could eat an egg off it just makes me smile.
Now I am not suggesting you come over and eat an egg off my toliet, which is totally grose, I am just saying that all 2 and half baths in our home are spotless. I even vacuumed the vents, wiped base boards, and polished the faucets.
To continue, my lovely friend Lara (named changed for her protection ;) ) was willing to come over Saturday and help me do some more cleaning. So this is how our crazy day went:
I got up at 7:40 am drove to her house, we then went to a local park with our bikes in tow, we met up with her coworkers from the hospital and proceeded to go on a 15 mile bike ride around town - It was a beautiful morning and I enjoyed the rolling hills - although my thighs did not! Anyway, this has nothing to do with cleaning, I know that, but it does make a day fun!
So after our sweaty fun bike ride we headed over to the Farmers Market, which is amazing!. There was live folk music -the appleacian kind, the smell of fresh yummy basil, black berries, and all sorts of tasties. I ended up getting nothing but a fresh baked slice of frocia bread for a dollar, ohhhh is was so good. Well...here's where we get to the cleaning part. We dropped off the bikes at Lara's and then off to my place to do some serious cleaning!
I mangaged to rope Lara into this by letting her do her laundry at my place. She started a load then we were off.....well, we were really tired from all the biking so we took a nap...then we got started.
We dusted all the upstairs rooms, wiped ceilings fans, baseboards, cleaned windows, and I vacuumed like a mad woman! Then we made Delicious Lemon Tarts with homemade whipped cream - yum!
After she left I cleaned the living room then I crashed! Sunday I managed to get my homework done, visit teach, and do the dishes and all the finances. Today I will begin in the kitchen - starting with the stove...this should be great!

1- I like your new blog name.
2- You didn't hide "Laura's" identity very well! Maybe her husband "Chip" can tell us another story about an irish man and his wife in their old truck. . .
3- I MISS YOU!!! And your clorox cleaning-ness
Hello you are beyond funny, I just love how responded ...LOL
You
are crazy.
And I love you.
Lucky you to have a friend like "Lara"!
I'm envious of your bike ride and Farmer's market jaunt.
I think I will have to copycat you - and in more ways than one, goodness knows my house needs a scrub down. Sure, everything's clean, but somehow Spring Cleaning slipped by me this year... oh well. Chalk it up to busy momhood I guess.
Love.
