Clogs

Whenever I visit my wonderful aunt in Woodenville I find myself leaving with something more. At times it is great advice, personal history, hugs, laughter, a loaf of bread, and most recently....

...I was sitting in her living room catching up with my cousins and chatting. She looked at me with her cunning smile and said "What size shoe do you wear?" her twinkling eyes made me nervious and curious at the same time. My cousins and I looked at eachother and I wondered what she had for me this time...then with an innocent grin she gave me a pair of white leather upper, wooden souled clogs! I thought to myself-"where in the world would I ever wear these fashionably rejected things? I can't fit these dutch imports in my suitcase!" But how could I resist such a gift from someone I love so much? I took the gift with some hesitation and packed it away hoping to forget them. When I came home I showed them to my husband. After a quick clogging recital I thought " hey these might just be fun."

Then I started wearing them for erronds like getting the mail, taking the garbage out and short grocery runs. They were just so easy to slip on and comfy to walk in. It wasn't that long before my clogs and I were going to work, class, the doctors, and even church! Now I am a believer in my clogs. My aunt must have cast a spell because I love these smurf shoes and wear them proud. For those who judge them - I know you are only blind to the convience and magic these clogs provide.

To my fellow cloggers I say "Clog on -yes- clog on into the night!"

I'd give the old clogs a try if I could wear a cool blue skirt like that!

I used to ALWAYS wear clogs until mine fell apart. They're so good for you feet, and they're totally cool. I love yours! White is way better than the navy blue I had.
